My Main Ride

Started
off on a Sporty 28 years ago, I think that makes that motor a
vintage Evolution. Crazy huh? Back then the Evolution Sporty was only 1 year old and had just taken over from the Iron head sporty. 1986 the first Sporty Evo's appear and 1985 for the first big twin Evo's..

I had gone to Harley School to become a tech and I know it was a long time ago because we worked on Panheads, Iron Sporties, the 66-69' Pan-Shovel and the Shovelhead. There wasn't one Evo in class yet lol.

You know your old when you know what points are or a Magneto (no not an X-men) is or if ya ever hand tuned your linkert or S&S carb before.

Anyway, I finally gave in to comfort and got me a 2006 FLHRCI you see here, brand new which I just paid off actually. She's my main squeeze now. Our biggest ride together so far was the 1100 miles from Phoenix, AZ to Euless, TX and boy was that an adventure, she and I both got battle scars from that one. It's not bad enough that illegal aliens do not respect the immigration laws but they also do not hold driving laws in high regard as well. Me and "baby" got rear-ended on the way to TX. Almost killed me, and she got a banged up skirt. But I hung onto her and she never fell over, the cop and fire fighters right there when it happened couldn't believe it. Anyway enough of my adventures.

Thanks to Sierra Vista H-D for patching me up and getting me on the road so quick so I could get home and to Adam's H-D in TX for patching up baby to better than new condition. And to Bedford Back & Neck for kinda patching me up.

I still have a soft spot for that first Sporty though and still own it as well and that's why this page exists. Call it a second chance on life for an old EVO engine. She deserves it.

Recent anniversary weekend for Strokers-Dallas.

Well probably the last time I'll get out to Strokers before I relocate my skinny old ass (ass is the only thing that's skinny) to FL for the remainder of my life with Susie (Mouse) and Minki (Rouse) . Its our retirement finally come after 84 (combined) years in the work force for Susie and I.

We haven't retired wealthy, not by a long shot, my SSD is an insult, Susie's SS isn't much better and Minki is just along for the ride as usual.

I'm getting things finalized for our move come May and am going down to see everything is fixed up for us before hand but before all the work begins I managed to get one more ride in to Strokers. The joint was happening on Saturday and Sunday, not so much on Friday.

Beer was so-so priced, food was a bit over priced for the quantity or quality but I'd say a bit better than McDonald's that's for sure.

I went on Friday on "Baby" it was quiet, had a beer or two and a burg, hung around for an hour or two lookin around and then took off home again. Didn't bother going on Saturday, I didn't get much sleep on Friday night and was too tired to head over there. Got a bit revitalized by Sunday and took a drive over there again, this time in the cage.

Crowd was huge! A lot of new bikes. The bikini contest got my attention. Had another burg to eat (which was about same quality as last one) and a few cold beers (Need to get some real beer like my brand Rolling Rock or some Canadian Import like Black Ice) Bud lite tastes like filtered and watered down piss to me as do most American beers. Can't stand the nutty, fruity joy boy beers either, I prefer a good Pilsner like beer with a smooth, slightly sweet, mild hop flavor. Kinda like Labatt's Blue.

Anyway, I stuck around for the first part of the Bikini contest, the ladies were lovely however, I didn't stay for the actuall prize awards for the girls nor did I hang around for the band they get started too late and I hate driving in the Dark in TX too many assholes that can't drive, can't drive even more when it gets dark.

Anyhow, here's a few more pics, enjoy! *cheers*
